My Dear Friend of Democracy,

Today, just a photo.

I took it recently in Malchow at the end of a two-day hike through the beautiful Prignitz region, Germany, halfway between Berlin and Hamburg.

Isn't the rose bush a lovely symbol of an established democracy? If the roots are strong, something extraordinary can emerge.
