My Dear Friend of Democracy,

Democracy means equal rights for all. Really all! Pardons don't fit in with that, even though I understand US-president Joe Biden very well. He has the power to protect his son from Trump's arbitrary rule. He has the power without breaking the law. Still, he is destroying so much.

By the way, pardons are the rule rather than the exception in the world's legislation. In Germany, for example, the Federal President (Bundespräsident) has the right to grant pardons. They are secret and the Federal President's Office does not provide any information about the Federal President's positive or negative pardon decisions. It‘s weird, isn‘t it?
