How democracies react to Putin's Russia

My Dear Friend of Democracy,

I saw this chart the other day in the Economist magazine.

It shows countries' defence spending and military support for Ukraine in relation to their distance from Moscow.

The chart says, in tendency, that the closer the dictatorial enemy, the greater the willingness of these democracies to defend themselves against this enemy.

✊ Obviously, democracies are capable of recognizing threats and responding to them.
